Use of Supposed to
- In daily life, you expect something from someone. And, simply say ‘I expect you to complete this task urgently’. The same sentence is changed into passive as ‘You are expected to complete this task urgently’. Now, put supposed’ in the above sentence. ‘You are supposed to complete this task urgently’.
- روزمرہ زندگی میں آپ دوسرے لوگوں سے کچھ توقع کرتے ہیں یا کبھی کبھی مفروضہ قائم کر لیتے ہیں کہ یہ کام فلاں شخص کے ذریعے ہی ہوگا۔ تو اس طرح کے فقرات کو آپ اس طرح کہتے ہیں۔ آپ سے توقع کی جاتی ہے کہ یہ امتحان پاس کر لیں یا یہ فرض کیا جاتا ہے کہ آپ مجھے ای میل وقت پر بھیجیں۔ نیچے دی گئی پہلی مثال کا ترجمہ کچھ یوں ہو سکتا ہے۔ فرض کیا جاتا ہے کہ تم ٹائم پر یہاں ہو۔ یا تمہیں ٹائم پر یہاں ہونا چاہئے۔
